“Lenticular Panorama”
This image was taken on the second afternoon of a prolonged inversion in the Lake Tahoe Basin. As the sun began to disappear behind the mountains to the west, the enormous lenticular cloud overhead was illuminated and its texture became far more visible. Given the sheer size of the cloud, I knew that it would not fit in one frame and would require three images stitched together as a panorama. The result can be viewed below, in black and white:
