Nevada Magazine: Public Land, Camping in the Boundary Peak Wilderness

Morning light camping image feature in the Winter 2022-2023 issue of Nevada Magazine …

I stepped out of the tent at first light in the Boundary Peak Wilderness to capture this image and shoot into the valley below (Fish Lake Valley) from a few different vista points.

The road up to this location was steep and in rough shape (high clearance 4×4 required). We traveled there to hike Boundary Peak, the highest point in Nevada.

The focus of the article is on the incredible amount of public land in Nevada and the recreational opportunities it provides.  Did you know that only Alaska has more public land than Nevada?  Federal agencies manage more than 48 million acres of land in the state and nearly 60 million acres are government owned.

Nevada has plenty of wide open spaces and room to roam … this is just one small example with a big view.
