This image was taken as we entered what I thought was the most dramatic section of river on the Lower Oywhee. It was shot from a standing position on the raft in flat water, close to an ancient cave we had just explored.
Ahead of this scene the canyon walls tightened with some of the more technical rapids on the trip. Then the river opened up to expansive desert views once again.
