This July Stefano Barberi of Reno, NV attempted the FKT (fastest known time) on Rose to Toads. For those who aren’t familiar, this route above Lake Tahoe is all single track mountain biking with over 8,000 ft of climbing, 10,000 ft of descent, between 7500 ft and 9700 ft in elevation.
His official time was 5:21:56, which is the second fastest known time. While he didn’t get the record, second place on this 62 mile ride is a very impressive feat. Here are a few images of Stefano on a small section of this trail near Kingsbury Grade, the day before he attempted the FKT:
