Tahoe Quarterly: Through the Lens

Through the lens feature in the Fall 2024 issue of Tahoe Quarterly.

“IN NATURE, art is infinite, from its most obvious forms—Lake Tahoe’s shimmering blue surface, for example—to its most unlikely sources. Like dead trees. Whether gnarled from the elements, blackened by wildfire or waterlogged on a rocky shoreline, the wood of any given dead tree represents a unique piece of nature’s art at its finest. This is especially true in the rugged Sierra Nevada, where the ravages of weather and fire create picturesque scenes on the wood of its most ubiquitous inhabitants. Perhaps overlooked by some, those with a keen eye for photography know there is beauty waiting to be captured in nature’s deceased.”
