Last Light on Fannette Island

I had this shot in mind for a while, having skied to this vantage point many times in the past, then dropping in on the other side of it. Example from 2016: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfNS4j7OwUE

The moment I set out to capture was the very last light of the day hitting Fannette Island, with fresh snow in the foreground. As you can see, the snow had already melted from the trees in the distance, but on this more north facing slope that wasn’t the case. With the trees in the foreground still holding snow (except for the tops) there was added contrast in the scene, to go along with the existing contrast created by the setting sun.

When a large boat pulled up to the island I thought I would have to return to shoot it again, but fortunately it exited the scene just before the shadows covered most of Emerald Bay.
